The possibilities for sharing over the internet have always fascinated me. Only a small fraction into my program at St. Lawrence College, I can’t help but be inspired by the idea of working from home, helping people worldwide through the power of social media. Since creating a blog has been assigned, I have solved my problem of not knowing where to start.
It’s likely a good thing I didn’t start a blog before college, having absolutely no concept of some very important pieces that go together to make a good blog post. One of those things being, to keep my sentences and paragraphs short and concise. I’ve never been very good at summarizing. I just have a lot to say! If you already follow my Instagram account, I’m sure you know that.
I want to provide the best content for my viewers, and some of the things I value most and hope to reflect on this blog is:
When I look through other blogs or articles one of the things that catch my eye the most are beautiful, high-quality images or videos within the text. You better believe you’ll be seeing that on my blog too. It will add more context to my posts, or help visualize the concept a little more clearly if my words don’t do the job.
I generally get all of my inspiration from other online sources, daily experiences, or just thoughts of the wandering mind, so I will be sure to link those helpful sources in my posts too. I would be curious, going along with my values and interests, what would my readers like to see?
I believe a blog post should be engaging and encourage the reader to think about something different. Whether it’s their thoughts and opinions on something that has never crossed their mind before, or the inspiration to try something they have always been too afraid to try.
Maybe that starts with reading, commenting on, sharing, or starting your own blog. Have you ever thought about starting your own blog? Why? What’s holding you back? Let me know in the comments below.
